rotarySarah has always had a deep passion for social good. This is evident through her educational career, from focusing on Spanish and Latin American studies to earning her master’s degree in International Public Service. She has brought that drive into her professional background as well. Sarah began working at the Center for Cultural Interchange for many years before entering her current role with Rotary International. SarahSpecifically, Sarah works as a Marketing and Recruitment Specialist for Rotary’s Peace Centers and the Rotary Peace Fellowship. The Rotary Peace Fellowship is one of the leading programs in the world launched by Rotary International over 10 years ago. The program awards over 100 fellowships a year to help advance the capacity of leaders and younger professionals in diverse sectors to build peace. There are 6 of these Peace Centers housed in top universities around the world. Five of the centers offer a master’s degree fellowship program in fields geared towards peace and conflict resolution. The sixth is dedicated towards training mid- to senior-level professionals who would like additional training in peacebuilding to scale the reach and impact of their work.

When talking with Sarah, I was able to see that her passion around Rotary International is almost tangible, she will tell you that her favorite aspect of her role is connecting social change leaders with capacity building opportunities. Sarah says, that “the best part are the fellow stories from their experiences during the fellowship to watching what they are able to accomplish after graduation.” The limits are truly boundless when you have a strong global network behind you. If laying the foundation to be a positive change agent in the global community is something you have an interest in, then look into the Rotary Peace Fellowships.

Sarah will tell you that, “Rotary International has over 1,000 alumni from (the) Fellowship program that are working in over 100 countries.” _V1G4077Similarly, to PCDN’s vision both share the mantra that the more people that can be trained and increase peacebuilding capacity the better the world will be.

It is the personal connection with Dr. Craig Zelizer, CEO and Founder of PCDN, that has been extremely valuable to Sarah, and in turn Rotary International. Not only has Craig been a leader in the professional development Rotary Peace Fellowship program but he has been instrumental in building connection points in helping the program develop new partners and outreach opportunities.

Rotary International leverages its strong relationship with PCDN to spread the word about the Peace Fellowship program, advertise throughout the year, post job openings, and call for application announcements. Sarah laughed and mentioned that the best part of the suite of offerings that PCDN provides is how customizable and seamless everything is! “PCDN is truly a one-stop-shop for everything.”
